Dr. John Barrick is a Board Certified Doctor of
Chiropractic and is licensed in New Hampshire. He received his Doctorate of
Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College located in Seneca Falls, New
York, and has been practicing chiropractic in conjunction with the integrative
healthcare group at Whole Life Health Care for eight years. Prior to moving to
the seacoast, he practiced in Manchester and Somersworth NH. Although Dr.
Barrick specializes in the treatment of many conditions, he also focuses on
family health and wellness. He is a member of the International Chiropractic
Pediatric Association, and treats children of all ages for ear infections,
injuries, and general spinal health. He also treats women during pregnancy for
back and pelvic pain, but also to improve upon the delivery process. Studies
show that women receiving chiropractic care during pregnancy have significantly
shorter labor and delivery time, as well as reducing the risk of complications
due to pelvic misalignment during delivery. He is also certified in the Webster
Technique, which is a gentle procedure that allows a breech baby to turn to its
normal position, and boasts a success rate of approximately 92% of babies
turning.
Dr.
Barrick enjoys treating patients of all ages, and educates them on the
importance of nutrition, natural healthcare, posture, and particularly
prevention of injuries and disease. His philosophy is to be “pro-active” towards
health, and not “re-active” to health problems. Because children are most
susceptible to repeated trauma from sports and play, he recommends evaluating
and treating them to correct problems early on, thus avoiding problems as adults
that could have been prevented with proper treatment. A healthy spine also
insures healthy growth and development.
When
Dr. Barrick is not tending to his patients, he enjoys spending time with his
friends and family, working out at the gym, playing guitar, skiing, and white
water rafting. He is also a registered Black Belt in the Martial Art of Tae Kwon
Do.
