Bodypeace involves reconnecting body,
mind, and spirit through release of stresses, tensions, and old patterns held
within your body, discovering more ease of movement within yourself and with the
world around you. As your body relaxes and your movements become freer and more
flowing, your mind and spirit follow, allowing your relationships to become
clearer and your spirit to become more peaceful. Your life becomes a journey
rich in experiences that support your essence.
Dawn supports her clients in their journey toward Bodypeace. She believes that
our bodies know what they need to be
healthy and happy. Sometimes, however, they
either forget or we are not able to “hear” the answer. At such times, we need
some outside assistance. Many traditional medical and integrative methodologies
can be helpful in regaining our balance. Dawn’s methods involve palpation of
tissues and movement.
Practically speaking, a one-on-one “Bodypeace” session may include traditional
forms of massage therapy, breathwork, Yogassage, and/or some other forms of
movement. For couples and groups, Yogassage and Interactive Movement
appointments are also available.
The benefits of any style of massage therapy, bodywork, or movement therapy
include increased strength, flexibility, and range of movement; improved
circulation and balance; and enhanced wellbeing.
Traditional
Massage...
Traditional massage therapy sessions
with Dawn may include Swedish, neuromuscular/deep tissue, myofascial unwinding,
energy work, among other techniques. Each session is designed to meet the needs
of a person as they present themselves on any given day, while maintaining a
focus on overall wellbeing.
Yogassage...
Yogassage sessions combine massage,
movement and assisted stretching. These sessions are also individually designed
and are done on a mat on the floor while you are wearing loose, comfortable
clothing. Yogassage is appropriate for anyone, from those who consider
themselves non-movers to the dedicated yoga student. Yogassage sessions are also
a powerful medium of connection for couples, presenting opportunities to learn
clearer, more intimate communication with your partner through healthy,
non-sexual touch.
Integrative Movement...
Integrative Movement classes access
your personal movement style, within your body and within your relationships.
Influenced by breath, stretching, music, and ultimately the interaction of
others, your body finds its own natural rhythm. Comfort within your own body
enhances and enlivens all interactions with others and with the world around
you.
About Dawn...
Dawn began her professional life as a
Physical Education teacher, coach, summer camp counselor and day camp director,
followed by graduate studies in Recreation/Fitness Management. An injury while
working in the fitness field led her to seek bodywork and chiropractic care
for personal treatment, and ultimately to her pursuit of massage therapy as a
career. For the past 20 years, Dawn has focused on touch and movement therapies
that integrate the body, mind and spirit. She has also co-facilitated Emotional
Release and Reeducation Workshops in Essex, MA. She has also co-facilitated
Emotional Release and Reeducation Workshops in Essex, MA, where she is currently
completing a certification in Collaborative Counseling and Coaching.
