Psychotherapy

Ellen Fish-Kingsbury is an advanced nurse practitioner in psychiatry / mental health.  She has 35 years of experience in providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples, adolescents, and groups.  She has taught psychiatric nursing at Boston University and has been trained in mindfulness meditation methods.

Ellen provides medication evaluation and follow up for persons who are in therapy.  After an initial session devoted to a thorough evaluation, she works closely with the client to assure the correct therapeutic dosage of medication.

An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. When applied to the 2004 U.S. Census residential population estimate for ages 18 and older, this figure translates to 57.7 million people.       - National Institute of Mental Health
