Tammy Svenson, MSW, LCSW, LICSW
Psychotherapist/Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Tammy Svenson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist in New Hampshire and Maine. In her private practice at Whole Life Health Care, she provides therapy for adults, the aging, caregivers, and families. She also offers caregiver support groups and caregiver education, life coaching, and acts as a consultant to the community.

As a therapist devoted to enhancing the problem-solving and coping skills of her clients, Tammy helps to confront and work through the diverse problems and challenges related to depression, anxiety, adjustment, cognitive changes, grief and loss, so individuals and families can find comfort and peace, enjoy more productive lives, and have better relationships with loved ones and friends.

Tammy’s approach to therapy is eclectic, as each person presents with unique challenges, needs, and goals. Her warm, engaging, and directive demeanor allows her to combine a variety of treatment ideologies, mostly stemming from a strength-based, solution-focused style, to best meet individuals’ or families’ needs. She has experience working in hospitals, corporate settings, law offices, resource centers, private homes, and long-term care facilities, serving in the capacity of therapist, case manager, and consultant.

Tammy earned her Masters of Social Work at Columbia University with concentrations in occupational and geriatric fields of practice. She has received postgraduate training in care planning and coordination, caregiver support, palliative care, Medicare/Insurance benefits, and Alzheimer’s/Dementia care and education.

She continues to grow through her personal and professional endeavors, serving as a member of the Ageless Dreamer Board of Trustees and being a Seacoast Hospice Volunteer, and by attending educational seminars and peer supervision groups to help keep current on the latest research in the field of Social Work, Psychology, Women’s Health, Palliative Care, and Gerontology. She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Gerontological Society of America (GSA).
