Tammy Svenson, MSW, LCSW, LICSW

Tammy Svenson is a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker/Psychotherapist in New Hampshire and Maine. In her private
practice at Whole Life Health Care, she provides therapy for adults, the aging,
caregivers, and families. She also offers caregiver support groups and caregiver
education, life coaching, and acts as a consultant to the community.
As a therapist devoted to enhancing the problem-solving and coping skills of her
clients, Tammy helps to confront and work through the diverse problems and
challenges related to depression, anxiety, adjustment, cognitive changes, grief
and loss, so individuals and families can find comfort and peace, enjoy more
productive lives, and have better relationships with loved ones and friends.
Tammy’s
approach to therapy is eclectic, as each person presents with unique challenges,
needs, and goals. Her warm, engaging, and directive demeanor allows her to
combine a variety of treatment ideologies, mostly stemming from a
strength-based, solution-focused style, to best meet individuals’ or families’
needs. She has experience working in hospitals, corporate settings, law offices,
resource centers, private homes, and long-term care facilities, serving in the
capacity of therapist, case manager, and consultant.
Tammy earned her Masters of Social Work at Columbia University with
concentrations in occupational and geriatric fields of practice. She has
received postgraduate training in care planning and coordination, caregiver
support, palliative care, Medicare/Insurance benefits, and Alzheimer’s/Dementia
care and education.
She continues to grow through her personal and professional endeavors, serving
as a member of the Ageless Dreamer Board of Trustees and being a Seacoast
Hospice Volunteer, and by attending educational seminars and peer supervision
groups to help keep current on the latest research in the field of Social Work,
Psychology, Women’s Health, Palliative Care, and Gerontology. She is also a
member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the
Gerontological Society of America (GSA).
