History of Whole Life Health Care
Whole Life Health
Care, is an integrative practice
that allows a combination of both conventional and complementary therapies in one
location. We care
for patients from birth through geriatrics.
Our goal is to provide quality care and build strong,
trusting relationships with each of our patients.

As the creator and founder of the concept of Whole Life
Health Care, Amy Coombs, MS, ARNP felt that healing is 80 percent belief; one
must believe in the therapy and trust the provider/s to achieve the ultimate in
health. Whole life Health Care is the best of both worlds of eastern and western
medicine.
Whole life Health Care began 8 years ago out of an increasing
number of patients interested in alternatives to conventional medicine for
healing. Knowing that her background was well founded in the conventional
approaches to health and well being, she started to learn more about all of the
alternative and complementary healing option that would expand her knowledge
base to better serve patients. The more she learned the more she realized she
could not possibly deliver these therapies as an expert and would need to
involve other practitioners in healing patients.
Amy wanted to provide an environment that patients would feel
better just walking in the door. As well, the practitioners needed to be highly
trained and credentialed but kind. As these thoughts evolved Whole Life Health
Care was born. The practitioners that became part of the Whole Life Health Care
concept would work under one roof communicating about how best to serve each
person.
Amy believes WLHC has achieved those goals over the past 8
years. The providers at Whole Life Health Care trust and support each other in
there perspective practices. Understanding what each does and how it may
help/heal our patients. Communication is the key to optimizing a patients health
and providers have the option to share information daily if need be to maximize
the healing process. Since it is different for each person, a patient may see
one or five providers to gain an optimal level of balance. Therefore an
individual care plan is set up for patients that come to Whole Life Health Care,
with the patient very much a part of that process.
As the concept of integrative medicine evolved so did our
space requirements. As we grew, we felt services offered five days a week would
help patients
gain better access to care, so it was decided to look for a space that could complete the
mission and vision of Whole Life Health Care. We then began the search for a new space. We
have always liked the energy that the Beane Farm provided with its unique “Barn
Like” architecture and the age of the building.
We were able to become involved with the deRochemont House
which gave us the historic energy and architecture we have had in the past. We
then needed to add on to the original building to give the space required to
meet the concepts need. We were fortunate to be working with John Merkle, historic
architect, marrying the old and the new styles in a flow of space that worked.
With the expansion of current services (acupuncture,
chiropractic, massage, primary care, psychotherapy, physical therapy and
nutrition) we have added several new services (ayervedic, reiki, homeopathic,
doula services, and wellness). We are excited for the future of Whole Life
Health Care with our ability to provide you with what you need to balance mind,
body and spirit
Our Mission
Our mission is to
provide comprehensive, cost-effective, and quality health care. We strongly
encourage a good provider/patient relationship, because familiarity with our
patients enhances the quality of care we can provide. Knowing our patients well
allows us to know when to refer to another specialty and to whom.
